Siren Seas

Here in Siren Seas, you play as a fisherman who has been tasked with helping catching nasty sirens as they keep distracting the Captain, causing him to crash his ship on previous ventures. Will you help him and his crew on their way to Luna Shore?

Press Space to begin and to continue during the beginning

Press the Up Arrow Key to cast your net and watch the short animation of catching the siren 

Useful Information

You can only catch the sirens in this game, if you try and catch another fish or when nothing in the sea an error sound will play, thought I'd mention this as I thought it might look like a glitch. 

Very occasionally a couple of glitches may happen, first off one of the sirens stays on screen for longer then she should after being caught or the net might not load in after the explanation on how it use it, neither of these glitches makes the game unplayable, as the net on the deck and the net animation are separate events, but the siren covers a good chunk of the screen so it might be off putting. If these happen to you please close the game and reopen it and it will go back to normal. I have triple checked the events I made and there isn't an error in my work, to be honest not sure what's going on there, I'm sorry about this.

Personal Statement

I have made Siren Seas for The Fishing Game Jam and I had a really nice time making this surprisingly as I thought I would struggle given the time limit.  I think this is due to learning from doing my first game jam to manage my time better and go with simpler ideas so I run into less problems, which really worked out as I only ever had one small hiccup unlike my previous jam where I had to scrap my first idea entirely. 

I made this game on RPG maker MV and I made all of the character art/fishy things, title screen, ending screen, backgrounds and textbox  and the net animation. I also made all the music used as I finished the rest of the game earlier then I expected. The sound effects used are from RPG maker as I didn't know how to make some of the sounds by myself and thought they would fit best.
